Startup BizCast #74 – Your Small Business Website (Steve Mullen)

This week we tackle small business websites, and what they need.  I go solo to discuss three different types of small biz sites, and the integral parts of each.  Included are the online business card, the online store, and the social media hub.  This is a shorter episode, as I’m slammed trying to catch up after the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S.  This is generally going to be a tough month for me, as I’m potentially starting several new projects.  I’m going to do my best to keep the show coming out on a regular basis!

  1. Great podcast – and thanks for the mention!

Excellent information for any small business owner looking to create or update a web site!

BTW, it’s actually pronounced Selanie… like Melanie with an S. But that’s OK – I know it’s not a common name and this is one of the nicer mis-pronunciations – trust me I get a LOT of different ones, LOL.

  2. Dang it!

(I’d use stronger language, but this is a family site)

I knew I should have asked, but I only had a short time to get that recording done yesterday. Sorry about that.

  3. No worries! Really! :)

  4. Excellent podcast. It features many of the things we stress at our fledling company (http://ithshepherd.org) focusing on websites for small business, non-profits, and religious organizations. I find that many times small businesses or oganizations don’t really know the prime things a small business site should have, or even what a good site is capable of. I found this article while looking for podcasts that would be relevent to our business and I’m finding many of your podcasts very educational. I hit this one up because it’s primarily what we do and wanted to see your direction. There’s plenty of new things on the web in the few years since this podcast but the points are still very valid.
