Startup BizCast on Facebook

I’ve started a Facebook group for Startup BizCast.  It’s a great way for listeners to network and not only learn from each other but also perhaps trade some business.  This podcast has plenty of listeners and is growing each week, so I’m hoping it will be a great resource for everyone!  I’ll also be posting special previews of upcoming shows.  My hope is also that it will be a great way to contact my guests, as I’m planning to invite each new guest to join the group as well.  If you head over there, you’ll notice that this week’s guest, Dave Saunders, has already joined the group.  Casey Quinlan, who was my guest in episode 47, is also a member of the group.

If you’re a Facebook member, all you have to do is click the banner above or this link, and then join up to the group.  If you’re not a Facebook member, join up!  It’s fun, and a great way to network!

Someone emailed me today commenting that they saw I wasn’t doing an episode this week.  Well, that’s untrue!  I took off last week for a variety of reasons, but this week Startup BizCast will return!  Expect a new episode to be published on Wednesday morning, complete with listener feedback, the BizCast Brief, and an interview chocked full of small business advice goodness!

No New Episode This Week

Hi all…

There will be no new episode of Startup BizCast this week.  Between summer guest scheduling issues, my busy work and family schedule, and a variety of other things, I made the executive decision to not produce a show this week.  I expect to be back next week with a new show, complete with BizCast Brief and listener feedback.  Stay subscribed so you don’t miss it!  In the meantime, if you haven’t heard any of the 57 episodes I’ve published, go back and listen … they’ll be new to you!

Listener Help Needed!

I need listener help! I’m working on an episode about saving money on gas, and I need your most novel advice. I’m not talking about things like keeping your car tuned and keeping the proper amount of air in your tires. I want unusual or even off the wall advice! I figure with all of the people who listen to this show, there must be some great advice to be found. Those who participate will, of course, get mentions on the show for themselves and their businesses. They’ll also get a link on the blog.

To help out, either email me via the contact form, comment in this blog post, or use the “Submit Your Advice” form. You can also leave an audio comment (which I will use on the show) by calling (206) 339-4366.  I’ll produce the show once I have enough advice to fill an episode!

Thanks in advance!

New Show Open – What do you think?

Now that a lot of folks have downloaded episode 50, I’m looking for some feedback. I wanted to experiment for the landmark show, so I actually hired an outside voice talent to do that little “announce” at the beginning before I started talking. I obviously also changed the intro music. Those who have been over to the BizPodz Podcast Production page and checked out my client shows may notice that it’s actually the same music I used for a single episode pro bono show I produced. I liked it so much I decided to re-use it for SB.

So, what did you think?

Startup BizCast on SBTV.com

I’ve been talking with online small business television network SBTV.com for some time now about the possibility of partnering with them in the podcasting world. The first steps have been taken, with Startup BizCast being added to the SBTV site!

You’ll find the banner to the left on the front page (and I think just about every page) of SBTV.com. When you click on it, it leads to a page that features every episode of Startup BizCast! Pretty cool to have access to all of the SBTV visitors. Be sure to head on over there and check out their content. They have a wealth of small business news and other information.

Do You Have a Favorite Startup BizCast?

This week is the one year anniversary of the launch of Startup Bizcast, and it’s also the 50th episode! To honor the occasion, I’ll have new production elements and I’m also doing a “Best of the first 50″ episode! I’m going to pick out what I think is the best advice of the first 50 episodes. The show is sure to be a wealth of great advice. If you’ve listened to every show, maybe it will jog your memory. If you haven’t, maybe you’ll hear some tips you missed!

Do you have a favorite episode of Startup BizCast? If so, let me know and I’ll include a clip from that show! Let me know via comments in this post, or by sending me an email.

A note for those of you who have actually been interviewed on Startup BizCast — please don’t recommend your own show :)

Looking for a Few Good Reviewers

If you’re a Startup BizCast listener, why not help others find the show? Please take a few minutes to leave a review on iTunes.  If you don’t have time for that, a vote on Podcast Alley would be great, or just give the show and/or individual episodes a Digg.

It would really help me out, and the more the word gets out about this show, the more people will benefit from the great advice my guests provide each week!
